Albert Schmitt
Albert Schmitt, manager, musician, lecturer and author, has been Managing Director of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 1999.
He has been responsible for the strategic reorientation and restructuring of the Kammerphilharmonie and its rise to global fame.
This success has been recognized with numerousawards, including the German Record Critics‘Prize, various Echo Klassik awards, the German Founder’s Award in the category of “special prize for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements” and the: zukunfts|award. In 2015 Albert Schmitt was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit as a paragon of social engagement in the field of Music Education in the state if Bremen.
As co-author of the book “Hochleistung braucht Dissonanz” (“High Performance Requires Dissonance”) he is in high demand as a lecturer and, as well as leading orchestras at home and abroad, also advises institutions from the worlds of business, politics , education, church and science.
